 BASIC DATA:The 8th year of ZF was greatly affected by the Coronavir pandemic - everything changed and adapted several times. First the date, then the venue and program. Various restrictions applied and finally the zoo was also closed. ZF was rather an impromptu meeting at the restaurant U lemura , which is located next to the Safari Park Dvůr Králové entrance. With a smaller number of people, in a restaurant, under special conditions and in a reduced form (without the guided tour of the zoo, etc.) finally the ZF somehow took place. We followed all the precautions and even nobody was infected. Date of performance: October 2020 (originally April 2020) Venue: Safari Park Dvůr Králové nad Labem (originally Zoo Ostrava) Number of participants: originally registered (for the spring) were 51 people, then 42 people (for the autumn term), but in the end the organized participation was canceled - whoever arrived had to come on their own - to sit in the restaurant only. In total it was 29 people (only 6 collectors of that) - some only for a limited time - see list and photo Fees: originally in Ostrava 410 CZK (including one dinner and toast), no fee was collected in the alternative term, everyone paid their own physical costs Accommodation: various - what was still in operation (Penzion u Venduly, Hostel Student ...) Eating: Restaurant U lemura (breakfast 60 CZK, lunch and dinner 85 CZK) - see menu PROGRAM - originally planned schedule was canceled, only some lectures remained, which in the form of presentations ran on screen in the restaurant lounge Number of specialist lectures and presentations: 6 - Rhinos in an airplane and a test-tube (Jan Stejskal); What about the greylag goose and its journey to Africa? (Michal Podhrázský), Zoos of the Baltics (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia) - 1st and 2nd part (Roman Hynek); History of Zoological Gardens 6th part - Modern History (since 1514) (Roman Hynek); Zoological facilities in Czech lands and Slovakia 3rd part - postwar period (Martin Vobruba) Discussion with important person of zoology: Pavel Holejšovský (witness and employee of the Zoo in time of Josef Vágner and externally untill now) - the discussion was rather replaced by a presentation and a photo projection Presence in materials sell-off and zoo presentation: canceled (originally 3 zoos registered) Other points: canceled (including organized visiting of the zoo) Special possibility: originally planed was visit of Leśny Park U Kaczyny, than Zoo Chleby, finally any organized trips were canceled (everyone could make their own arrangements according to the currently valid regulations) AUCTION Presence: 31 people (including somebody from staff of the restaurant) Auctioneering, presenting and leading of the auction: Roman Hynek, Martin Vobruba, Zdeněk Čermák Items of the auction: printed propagation materials; coins, cups, t-shirts, books, DVD, VHS, wooden figures of animals Highlight donated by the zoo: 1) several large-size photo-paintings; 2) panda droppings in resin; 3) printed materials with signature of Miroslav Zikmund Proceeds: ~36,000 CZK Usage of the auction proceeds: for rhinos |
